Ride Groups

Currently we have three option for riding in Defiance.

Option 1. Tuesday/Thursday Riding Group – This is not a club – but a group of unorganized cyclists although very faithful. This group leaves from Trangle Park in Defiance every Tuesday and Thursday from April to October (sometime later just depends on the weather).

This season we are going to have 3 levels of riders:

1.  The “A” group is a bunch of cycling speed demons, hang with them if you dare!!!

2.  The “B” group who average around 17 MPH for the evening ride. We will still have ‘town line’ sprints, but regroup afterward for a good paced ride together.

3.  The “C” group is for those who don’t want to be ‘ruled’ by testosterone. They will complete shorter distances at a more leisurely speed. 13-15 MPH would be the norm for “C” group. We hope to have a few people in each group every ride.

Option 2: The Northwest Pedalers – This is a club that rides Saturday morning. Click here for more information.

Option 3: Team Defiance – This is a brand new race team. Click here for more information.

Thr ride report, June 10th 2010

An evening of great weather set us up for a good ride. About 15 of us met at the Triangle and we headed to Delaware Bend or Sherwood.5 of us worked the “A”group till the Bend, then met up with the “B” group that took the shortcut. They went down the Bend road while we set off for Sherwood. Mike and Bob Switzer lead the group back while 3 of us set a slightly slower pace. In all, a super evening for a ride.
